Celebrating our 10th anniversary

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, Shoreham Wordfest is launching a Poetry and Prose competition from 1 April.  We are inviting Poems of 10 lines and 10 word short stories (yes 10 words!)  The competitions will be judged by John McCullough and Catherine Smith, and are open to all residents of Sussex, with a special prize for 16-18 year olds.  The closing date is 1 August.

We are also running a poetry project for children, Poetry of Our Time: Lines from the Lockdown. Please see details below.

Get Creative: Children’s Poetry Project Shoreham Wordfest is running a Poetry for Our Time project for children aged 7-11 years, together with Kay Walton from Brighton-based poetry group Rap’n’Rhyme.  There are workshops and great ideas to inspire young poets to write poems about their world as it is now: Lines from the Lockdown.  Originally designed for Adur schools, we have redesigned it as an on-line project and opened it to all local children and families.  Details of the on-line resources…
