Hidden Sussex : Writing workshops for people of BME heritage
February 9 - 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
One event on March 9, 2019 at 2:00pm
This is a workshop to support people of BME heritage who are interested in submitting poetry or prose for the Hidden Sussex Anthology.
Shoreham Wordfest is delighted to be working with Writing Our Legacy who are developing a print and digital publication, Hidden Sussex, an anthology about the Sussex experience from the Black and ethnic minority perspective.
Come join a taster creative writing workshop and get tips on how to write your own Sussex-inspired story, whether that's a true-life story or a piece of fiction or poetry. The workshops will be led by writer and teacher, Farah Edwards Kahn, and are suitable for all levels, from beginners onwards.
The workshops are on Saturday 9 February 2-4pm and Saturday 9 March 2-4pm, both at Ropetackle Arts Centre, Shoreham-by-Sea. Tickets are £10/£5 concession plus booking fee. You can book for just one workshop or both.
The deadline for submissions to the anthology is 17 March 2019 and it will be published in June 2019. There will be book launch events across Sussex including a Wordfest hosted event at Ropetackle Arts Centre on Sunday 16 June 12-2pm.
