Cohere is a writing project from North-East England, curated by Brighton-based photographer Nina Emett of FotoDocument.
The contributing eight poets and writers (all migrants or refugees) collaborated with the poet Zaffar Kunial, whose poem ‘Us’ was shortlisted for last year’s T. S. Eliot prize.
The resulting work was interpreted by four visual artists, also refugees or migrants, to produce a series of artistic films which will be shown on monitors in Ropetackle and The Shoreham Centre throughout Wordfest. This talk, by artist and producer Geoff Brokate, explains more about the project, with readings from some of the participants.
