The importance of the work of Millicent Fawcett on Rights for Women and the linked role of The Women’s Land Army will be the focus of the presentation. The session will start with a talk by Morag Charlwood on changing attitudes towards the role of women in society, accelerated by wartime needs while the men were away.
The session will include poetry and prose readings and testimonies from some members of The Women’s Land Army from World War 1.
