Creation and Transformation in ‘Frankenstein’ and ‘Wuthering Heights’
Tuesday, 2nd October 2018
A literary salon led by Morag Charlwood
2018 marks 200 years since the publication of Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’ and the birth of Emily Brontë, author of ‘Wuthering Heights’. Morag Charlwood will talk about the genesis, publication and reception of these transformative and revolutionary works by ground-breaking 19th century women writers.
There will be readings followed by a discussion including memories of our own first reading or acquaintance with these landmarks of world literature. Extracts from both novels will be provided. If you wish to bring a two- minute reading to share with the group, please do.
Limited numbers. Details of the venue will be on the tickets.
